I believe real, lasting change starts in the communities that are too often overlooked — and I've spent my career proving it. From stopping EDF's plans to flood Pawlett Hams, to fighting for families trapped in poverty and pushing suicide prevention onto Somerset Council's agenda, my work has always been about the same thing: making sure people who aren't usually listened to get heard, and get real results.
That belief drives everything I do — mental health, community safety, fair treatment for everyone regardless of background, and resilient, connected communities that look out for one another. Right now, that means working to make sure Somerset's voice is heard in the national conversation on fixing adult social care, as Associate Lead Member for Community Resilience and through my own work building better, fairer models of care. With one of the fastest-ageing populations in the country, Somerset can't afford to sit this one out.
