Dour debate shows need for alternative voice in Parliament

Yesterday’s dour ITV Leaders’ Debate between Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer demonstrated just one thing: a need for an alternative voice in parliament after the general election on July 4.

Fortunately for voters in Bridgwater, Burnham and Highbridge, there is an alternative voice for a brighter future.

Liberal Democrat candidate Claire Sully represents a new politics; one which prioritises people and puts constituents first, fighting for a fair deal in our society. It will leave behind the shouting and interrupting and return decency and integrity to Parliament.

A YouGov poll in the immediate aftermath of the debate found 62% of viewers found the debate ‘frustrating’ while 32% said it was ‘vague’.

“Voters need not limit themselves to a choice between incompetent Conservatives on one side and uninspiring Labour on the other,” Claire said.

“The Liberal Democrats are the only party which represent real change for Britain. With better policies and better politicians, we can build a brighter future.

“The Liberal Democrats have an inspiring plan to combat the cost-of-living crisis, fix our NHS and save our environment from catastrophe. But the only way to break the traditional and failing two-party system is to vote for an alternative.

“According to a recent poll, the Liberal Democrats are just a four-seat swing from becoming the official opposition in parliament, pushing the Conservatives into the abyss and offering a stronger, more compassionate voice to represent the country. The only way to achieve this in Bridgwater is to vote Liberal Democrat.”

It would be a real treat to see the Lib Dems as the party of opposition. Bring it on, Claire!
