Somerset Council calls for NHS dental contract reform.
We must maintain pressure on the Government to address the dental crisis in Somerset.
The council’s letter to the Government was prompted by NHS Somerset’s report, which was presented while I was Acting Chair of the Adults and Health Scrutiny Committee. I wrote to the Lib Dem Leader of Somerset Council, Cllr Bill Revans, asking him to hold the Government to account. The Scrutiny Community recommended that the council’s leader, in collaboration with all political parties, should call for comprehensive reform of dental contracts by engaging directly with the government.
A core principle for me is working across political boundaries for the good of residents. This is an example of that commitment.
