Lib Dem “Four-seat swing” from beating Conservatives to becoming official opposition

Poll shows Liberal Democrats just a four-seat swing from beating Conservatives to becoming official opposition.

It couldn’t happen, could it? Well, the latest poll from Find Out Now for GB News has the Liberal Democrats just a four-seat swing away from becoming the official opposition in parliament and knocking the Conservatives into third place.

But to wake up to this fairy tale the morning after July 4, the new seat of Bridgwater is crucial for the Lib Dems to win.

The poll for GB News, released on Friday, predicts Labour to win a landslide majority of more than 310 seats when taking into account tactical voting.

With Labour secure of electoral victory and a resounding majority, the real story is how close the Liberal Democrats are to claiming second place, with the poll estimating the party is set to win 59 seats, just seven behind the Conservatives, whose vote is forecast to plummet by 306 seats.

YouGov’s latest MRP poll has Claire Sully and the Liberal Democrats just four per cent behind the Conservatives in Bridgwater, where a win for the Liberal Democrats would close the gap to just five seats.

Tactical vote organisation tactical.vote is advocating a vote for the Liberal Democrats in Bridgwater to defeat the Tories.

So, let’s do this. Let’s consign the Conservatives to electoral oblivion and make the Liberal Democrats the official opposition at the next parliament!
