60 years of Pilton Pre-school!

I was so pleased to join the 60th Anniversary Celebration at Pilton Playing Fields on Saturday.

There was a wonderful display of photographs charting six decades of the pre-school’s history — generations of Pilton (and surrounds) children, families and volunteers, and a lovely reminder of how much a pre school setting can mean to a village.

Opened in 1966 and still going strong, Pilton Pre-school is a charity-run setting rated Outstanding by Ofsted in 2023. That’s a real credit to everyone involved, past and present.

It was great to meet Hannah Johnson (Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead) and Tori Lester-Vincent (Deputy Manager), and to hear about the work they’re doing.

Congratulations to the whole team, past and present, and to the community of parents and children — here’s to the next 60 years!
