Serving Locals at Sunny Alhampton’s Open Gardens

The sun was out for Alhampton’s Open Gardens (May 21st) with hundreds of people visiting the village to explore 8 incredible gardens, some of which have been created and tended to by leading horticulturalists.

This year’s event was celebrating 10 years of Haddon Woods, which the local community conceived, developed and maintained with the Woodland Trust since the land was donated to the Trust in 2013.

This is my second year of volunteering at this community event since been elected (May 2022). Myself and a small team run a open garden café, serving teas and coffees. We raised £500 with our super homemade local cakes and refreshments.

Overall Alhampton Open Gardens raised around £5000, which will be used to help future maintenance of Haddon Woods.
